Enforcing court judgments in Luxembourg

When a debtor does not comply with the requirements of a court judgment, and the creditor applies for a judicial officer to intervene, the court judgment is enforced. Enforcement takes place after a number of well defined phases have been completed, which are laid down in the New Civil Procedure Code and aimed at increasing the pressure on the debtor. The EEJ project intends to provide citizens with a description of the enforcement rules and procedures applicable in Luxembourg.
